Comic-Con 2009

It's that time of year again folks and Comic-Con is right around the corner. This year's show runs Thursday, July 23rd through Sunday, July 26th. I'm happy to announce that yours truly, cartoonist and master Jedi Patrick Scullin, will be attending this year's show. Visit me the entire week at table P-02 in the Small Press pavilion. This year we're listed as Super Siblings Comics so come on over, pick up some original art, buy some books, or just come by for a chat. Like you, I'm looking forward to seeing old friends and making new ones so don't be shy!

M.F.A. Exhibition

Saturday, April 18th 2009 from 6pm to 9pm is the opening reception for "Four Color Fantasy" a Master's of Fine Art Exhibition by Patrick Scullin. Come enjoy the art and mingle with friends and family. The exhibit will be open to the public Monday, Wednesday, & Friday - April 20th through April 30th from 9am to 1pm. Drew Struzan!!!

The wife and I went to a gallery opening for Drew Struzan last night. Here's a picture of us with the man himself. Drew's work is probably the most recognizable illustration of our day. He's done thousands of posters for everything from Star Wars to Harry Potter during his almost 40 year career. It was a rare opportunity to see some of his original work up close and more than that - to meet the artist himself. His art is breathtaking and really can't be appreciated unless seen up close. He was a very gracious and humble host. I enjoyed talking with him and telling him about the time when I was 13 and saw his work for the first time at an art show he had at the San Bernardino Library. It was also fun to hear about his experience living in Lake Arrowhead as well. Thanks Drew! If you're in the area visit Gallery Nucleus February 13, 2009 - March 2, 2009.
